Public Utility Commission Public Participation Guidance Documents

As part of the Vermont Public Utility Commission’s (“Commission” or “PUC”) ongoing efforts to make it easier for citizens to participate in Commission proceedings, the PUC has released three new guidance documents:

Each of these documents is available on the Commission’s website. In addition, the first of these documents replaces the “Guide to the Vermont Public Utility Commission’s Section 248 Process” that is referred to in Commission Rule 5.402. As such, the new “A Citizens Guide to the Public Utility Commission” should be referred to in the advance notice provided to local and regional bodies and to adjoining landowners pursuant to Rule 5.402(A) and (B).

In addition, links to the first two of these documents must be included in any notices of Section 246, 248, 248(j), 248a, and net-metering petitions that are sent to entities other than state agencies. For your convenience, these links will be included in the memorandum you receive informing you that your petition is administratively complete.
